How to apply for a Library card
All residents
of the City of Rock Hill are eligible for library cards from the Rock Hill
Public Library. Residents under
17 years of age must get the signature of a parent or legal guardian on the
library card application.
Owners
of businesses located in Rock Hill are eligible.
Teachers
employed at the Webster Groves School District are eligible.
St.
Louis City residents are eligible to obtain Rock Hill Public Library cards. Residents of the St. Louis County
Library taxing district and residents of the St. Charles City/County Library
taxing district also are eligible to obtain a Rock Hill Public Library card.
St.
Louis Municipal Library Consortium
Residents of
communities whose libraries belong to the St. Louis Municipal Library Consortium
will be issued cards at their home libraries. These libraries include Brentwood Public Library,
Ferguson Municipal Library, Kirkwood Public Library, Maplewood Public Library,
Richmond Heights Memorial Library, University City Public Library, Valley
Park Community Library and Webster Groves Public Library.

Identification
such as a valid driver's license or state ID showing current address must be
presented in order to get a library card.
A
valid occupancy permit, a current utility bill, or an imprinted check may be
used as proof of current address when accompanied by the photo ID.
Responsibility
for Materials
Library users
are financially responsible for all materials checked out on their cards.
Parents or guardians of children under age 17 are financially responsible for
materials circulated on their children's cards.
A
maximum number of six DVDs may be checked out at one time. A maximum number of six CDs may be
checked out at one time.
Loan
Periods
Reference
materials may not be checked out. Videos, DVDs and periodicals are circulated
for one week. All other items are circulated for two weeks.
Renewals
Materials may
be renewed in person or over the telephone, 962-4723, for an additional loan
period. You may renew items except DVDs three times after their initial
checkout. No renewals on DVDs. Items that have a waiting list may not
be renewed.
Fines,
Fees and Damaged Materials
Overdue fines
for all materials are $.10 per day to a maximum of $3.00 per item. Payment for damaged materials will be
the responsibility of the person checking them out.
Suspension
of Borrowing Privileges
Use of any
library card will be blocked when any combination of fines or fees total $5.00
or more.
